Toast

If you've been asked to give a speech or make a toast, you're probably a decent person. At least in the eyes of those you'll be speaking in front of.

There's enough faith that the people in the room will actually pay attention when you speak. That you can string a sentence together. That you won't make a complete fool of yourself. ​

Unfortunately, not everyone can write. It's not a prerequisite of a good person to be capable of crafting a speech or selecting the perfect anecdote.
